When Jesus saw the crowd press around him, Jesus gave orders to cross to the other shore. A teacher of the Law approached him and said, «Master, I will follow you wherever you go». Jesus said to him, «Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head». Another disciple said to him, «Lord, let me go and bury my father first». But Jesus answered him, «Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead».

Analysis
Today's passage is a short, very short, yet it describes the tragic nature of Christ. There is not much to go through, but essentially, a teacher of the law met Him and said that he wishes to follow Jesus. Jesus then said something odd, "Foxes have holes and and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." Then one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, let me go and bury my father first." Jesus answer was, to follow Him and let the dead bury the dead. All of these words account for the tragic nature of Christ, one that saves all, yet is unable to save themselves. One that gives home for the homeless, yet has no home of their own.
Jesus' words about foxes and birds has a very clear meaning. It means that while animals of all sorts has a home, they have somewhere to go after a hunt, the Son of Man, Jesus Himself, has nowhere to go. Having a home usually means we have family to go to, it means that in the event of a catastrophe, we have someone to support us. Jesus however, has no one to go to, He is alone, until His death on the cross. Of course, whether that is still true or not is up for debate. However, it is my deep hope, that Christ will too experience comfort, one day, whenever it is, and not be cursed for eternity.
To follow Christ is to help in His mission, deliver the truth and open people's eyes. This mission, requires deep commitment, and if we do follow it, then we must risk our all. His mission will involve lots of suffering and pain, mostly due to loneliness and rejection. Of course, when Jesus told His disciple to leave his dead father, that is a message for us who wishes to "follow" Christ. That message, is to abandon and sacrifice everything that we had, for the sake of salvation. In truth, many people claim to follow Him, but their thought and heart are elsewhere. They delude the truth with odd terms and words, they are the nowadays hypocrite. Anyway, the reason Jesus said to let the dead bury their dead is because His mission is for the ones living, those who have died, let them rest, do not worry about them. I believe that is His message. Nevertheless, I believe that is all I have to say, have a nice day and see you tomorrow.
